THE PERUVIAN LUXURY ALPACA
The alpaca is an animal of fine print, with a slender body, belonging to the group of camelids. According to studies by some researchers, the alpaca comes from the domestication of the vicuña. This animal is distinctly Peruvian and inhabits the Andean highlands above 4000 meters above sea level; It is characterized for being an ecological animal that does not damage the grass or cause erosion.
There are two alpaca breeds:
The Alpaca Huacaya
It is the race with the greatest diffusion in the country, representing 85% of the total number of alpacas. It is an animal whose fiber grows perpendicular to the body and covers all its extremities.
The Alpaca Suri
The population of this alpaca breed is smaller, bordering 15% of the national total of alpacas and the majority of alpacas of this species are white because they are losing the variety of their colors, however it is the most striking because its fine print and beauty. Its main habitat is wet and low puna. It is characterized by having a long fleece that can reach 40cm in length, grows in curls attached to your body. It has white fleeces that go from light cream to black.
